ACT & SING

AGES 4-7

In each class, we will do 20 minutes of "Imaginacting", 20 minutes of "Music and Singing", and 20 minutes of "Creative Movement Dance." It is a great way for your little student to get introduced to the performing arts.

ACT IT OUT

AGES 8-12

Gain confidence and stage presence in this introduction to theatre. We channel the energy and imagination of young actors through creative dramatics, theatre games and story dramas. Students build theatre skills such as stage directions, blocking, character development, and working as a group.

ACTING 1

AGES 10-14

Acting 1 explores the need for actors to be in the moment. Through improvisation exercises, students learn how to step out of the box and make bold, truthful choices. The class utilizes scene work from their favorite shows to teach them character development, physicality and connecting with fellow actors on stage. We also equip and prepare our students with the tools needed to be successful in the audition room.

ACTING 2

AGES 13-17

Acting 2 is an in-depth exploration into the actor's process in preparing for a role. It covers acting principles, including action, objective, obstacles, conflict, beats and being in the moment. It incorporates fundamentals of movement, voice and improvisation essential to the art of acting. Students will examine scripts, do character analysis, monologue work, maintain actors' journals and perform a scene in the end of year recital.

ACTING The Song

AGES 10-17

Acting the Song will apply the skills learned in Acting 1 and 2 to the musical performance of a song. We will work to balance proper vocal technique with bringing honesty, depth and personalization to a character. This class will push each student to treat every song like a monologue and learn the steps to find and share the story within the song.
